You & Yesterday
Overview:
You & Yesterday is AND’s first wiki, using the same technology as the Wikipedia encyclopaedia to let people share their memories and old photographs of Derbyshire.
Registered users can submit their stories and pictures live to the website, comment on existing articles via discussion pages and a forum, and add or edit factual information.
They can also keep a watch on articles that interest them and upload video and audio clips.
Registration is free.
As well as hundreds of personal recollections and a wealth of content, charting the changes that have occurred over the centuries, You and Yesterday has a picture bank of nearly 4,000 historic images from around the county.
Around two thirds of users are men, with the majority of all people registered falling into the 45-74 age group.
